YUFE Connects: Dr Agnieszka Pawełek’s Research Visit to the University of Cyprus
From 1 to 5 June 2026, Dr Agnieszka Pawełek from the Department of Genetics, Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciences at Nicolaus Copernicus University, completed a research visit to the University of Cyprus (UCY) as part of the NAWA YUFE Connects – European Platform for Academic Cooperation project.
During the mobility, Dr Pawełek visited the Phenotypos Plant Phenotyping Platform at the Agricultural Research Institute experimental station in Tochni (Zygi), Cyprus. Phenotypos is a state-of-the-art research facility dedicated to studying plant resilience to climate change, with the aim of improving crop productivity and supporting sustainable agriculture through advanced phenotyping technologies.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange scientific knowledge and explore future directions for collaboration in plant genetics and climate resilience research. It also laid a strong foundation for future research cooperation and student exchange between Nicolaus Copernicus University and the University of Cyprus, further strengthening international collaboration within the YUFE Alliance.
