Associated professor in Ecology at the Department of Ecology, Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences, University in Presov, Slovakia.

She obtained PhD. degree (2012) and habilitation degree (2022) in Ecology at University of Prešov. The topic of the habilitation thesis focused on impact of anthropogenic factors on the quality of soil ecosystems using microbial and biochemical indicators. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher (2012-2013) at the Institute of Biogeochemistry and Pollutant Dynamics, ETH Zurich, Switzerland in Environmental Microbiology group. Since 2013 she has been working as a researcher and teacher at the Department of Ecology. She is an author of 2 university textbooks, 1 monograph chapter, 1 textbook chapter and over 100 scientific papers in soil ecology, microbial ecology and environmental impact assessment. She has participated in several national (KEGA, VEGA, APVV) and international projects (Interreg, Visegrad fund, Sciex, Erasmus+). She has extensive experience in foreign scientific field works in Switzerland, Brazil, Poland, Romania. Her pedagogical activity is focused on the teaching of subjects Soil Science, Microbial Ecology, Environmental Education and Molecular Ecology. She has completed several foreign mobilities in Denmark, England, Romania, Spain, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Serbia, Tunisia and Czechia.
