Andrea Rácz
Andrea Rácz, University of Debrecen student is currently enrolled in a one-tier master’s programme in English Language and Culture and Geography. She is in her third year of studies and is completing her teaching practice in middle schools across Debrecen.
Her academic interests focus on the role of soil in modern education and on finding more engaging, interactive ways to teach geography and environmental topics to students. She is especially interested in connecting geography education with environmental awareness, including topics such as global warming, sustainability, and the relationship between people and nature.
Andrea is passionate about strengthening the importance of geography as a school subject and making geographical education more accessible, meaningful, and inspiring for younger generations.
She also advocates for more educational field trips and outdoor learning experiences within geography teaching. In her view, students can better understand the importance of nature, soil, water systems, biodiversity, and environmental protection when they experience them directly outside the classroom. Her goal for the future is to help students build a closer connection to nature and develop a deeper understanding of the natural processes and environmental challenges that shape our world.
