Lukáš Kalovčák

is a master’s student in Ecology and Environmental Science at the University of Prešov. He is currently in his first year, continuing after completing his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Protection and Ecotechnology of Raw Materials at the Technical University of Košice.
His professional interests focus on soil-related issues, especially its importance in ecosystems and the possibilities for its protection and restoration. He is also interested in popularizing knowledge about soil and environmental topics to a wider public. His bachelor’s thesis focused on assessing the possibilities of phytoremediation of water affected by environmental pollution.
During his studies, he has acquired basic technical skills in GIS and programming in the R language. In addition to his academic focus, he has experience in organizing events and working with people, which he developed through participation in popularization activities, social events, and as a member of the ESN Prešov group.
