City of the Future – Visions and Strategies for Sustainable Development 17–18 September 2026

The main objective of the Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference “City of the Future – Visions and Strategies for Sustainable Development” is to create a platform for discussion on innovative solutions and strategies aimed at building sustainable and smart cities.

The conference will provide an opportunity for researchers from various disciplines — including urban planning, environmental protection, environmental chemistry, biology, sociology, law, economics, and geography — to exchange ideas and research findings. A key focus is to demonstrate how collaboration across these fields can contribute to more effective and integrated urban design.

The organizers also plan to highlight the potential of GIS and geoinformation systems in efficient urban planning and in monitoring environmental parameters, such as air quality.

Example thematic areas include:

• development of sustainable mobility and efficient, eco-friendly urban transport systems,
• strengthening public participation and emphasizing the role of residents in shaping their environment,
• adaptation of cities to climate change and the development of interdisciplinary strategies for protecting urban ecosystems,
• promotion of environmental education and raising ecological awareness,
• application of GIS and geoinformation in urban management.
