Sanjana Dutt from the Department of Geoinformation and Environmental Remote Sensing, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management, recently completed a 30-day research stay at AMAP Lab (Botany and Modeling of Plant Architecture and Vegetation).
As part of her doctoral research, she collaborated with Dr. Dimitri Justeau-Allaire, focusing on deciphering ecological processes in fragmented areas of Poland's Tuchola Forest. Her work aimed to identify which satellite-derived vegetation indices best predict these dynamics—a key step in improving forest monitoring and conservation strategies.
A major highlight was presenting her findings at the European Geoscience Union (EGU) General Assembly 2025, where she engaged with leading researchers and refined her work through valuable discussions.
Beyond the science, Sanjana cherished the mentorship, collaboration, and personal growth fostered at AMAP Lab. The experience not only advanced her PhD but also deepened her passion for ecological remote sensing and sustainable forest management.
Congratulations, Sanjana, on this productive collaboration!
