We are pleased to announce that the project SETTI – Soil Education through Tourism Infrastructure has been awarded a grant from the International Visegrad Fund: https://www.visegradfund.org/arc.../results/visegrad-grants/
The project, authored by Prof. Marcin Świtoniak, DSc (Coordinator) and Prof. Przemysław Charzyński, DSc, aims to conduct research on educational trails and other elements of educational and tourism infrastructure with regard to their potential for soil education, as well as to develop solutions that strengthen public awareness of the role and importance of soils.
Project partners include universities from the other Visegrad Group (V4) countries: Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic), University of Debrecen (Hungary), and University of Prešov (Slovakia).
The SETTI project seeks to highlight soils as a key component of food security, biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, climate change adaptation and sustainable development. By integrating soil science, geographical education and tourism studies, the project will deliver practical tools for teachers, paprents and guides.
